Late last night I was casually browsing reddit and noticed this headline: ‘Isn’t it about time Foodit gets it’s [sic] own alien?’. Little did I know that a few hours later my creation would become the new ‘foodit’ custom alien.
For a while now reddit.com, a news aggregation site, has allowed their custom ‘reddits’ (also known as sub-reddits) to have custom styles. The moderator(s) of those custom reddits can change the css and logo of their reddit. This gives them the ability to change the link color, link hover color, background color, header background color, font sizes, etc. Although the custom styles aren’t enabled by default for every user, it’s a pretty cool feature that I’m glad they’ve implemented.
Edit: I’ve been advised that custom styles ARE now enabled by default, even better!
Check out the post that lead to my creation becoming the custom reddit logo for the food reddit here.
